When does this country feel like home? Does it ever?
How can we learn from each other?

Goodbye Jamie Boyd

Based on the verse novel by Elizabeth Fensham

Creatively developed and produced by Buzz Dance Theatre and Monkey Baa Theatre Company
Directed by Sandra Eldridge and Cadi McCarthy
Recommended for year groups 8-12

goodbye-jamie-boyd“My Spirit is as dry
as a creekbed in drought-
baked earth with cracks
like a fractured skull.”

Teenagers grapple today with a variety of issues such as drug use, mental illness and self-harm. Goodbye Jamie Boyd is a heart-felt, yet honest poetic story incorporating multi-media, dance and spoken text, tackling these issues and more.

“Wow! I can honestly say that Goodbye Jamie Boyd was one of the best theatre experiences I have had. It was inspiring. The design and use of multi-media was brilliant and haunting. The students were enthralled. They were absolutely speechless. This needs to be taken on a tour around the country. Fantastic youth theatre!"

- Carmen Noonan, Head of Drama, St Columba’s Springwood, NSW
